Electroplated zinc is a widely applied finish that provides economical corrosion resistance to steel. Today, with higher worldwide demand for improved quality and corrosion resistance, alternate coatings are required. Products used on: nuts & bolts, computer chassis, metal frames of all types, hydraulic tubing, etc. New chromates and top coats are now available to enhance the corrosion protection of standard zinc plating.

There are four standard chromates used on top of Zinc. Clear, Yellow, Black, and Olive Drab. Chromates are used to prevent the Zinc from corroding and for cosmetic purposes. Processes utilize ion exchange purification and are available in ROHS compliant finishes.
